This book presents a comprehensive treatment of the analysis and design of control systems. This text was difficult to get into and not recommended if you are looking to study the subject on your own. I purchased this for a class and the professor had a very good understanding of controls and both chemical and electrical systems which made the use of this book easier. If your professor is not providing supplemental information, this book may not aid in your learning of the subject. The use of MATLAB syntax written in the book provided great assistance in performing the problems at the end of the chapter.

On another note, it seems that compared to the fourth edition, the fifth edition is missing some helpful subjects especially the review topics that were in previous editions.

Provides problems that aid in learning material. Written material sometimes not in depth enough but otherwise adequate. I would suggest using MATLAB examples on your own in order to gain a boost in learning material.
