Book Description

Civil engineers are introduced to chemistry and biology through a mass and energy balance approach with this book. It covers ABET required topics of emerging importance, such as sustainable and global engineering. Problems are integrated at the end of the chapters that are similar to those on the FE and PE exams. In addition, readers will have access to Web modules, which address a specific topic, such as water and wastewater treatment. The modules include rich content such as animations, audio, video, interactive problem solving, and links to explorations. Civil engineers will also gain a global perspective so they can take a leadership role in sustainable development.

About the Author
Mihelcic and Zimmerman and their co-authors introduce the field of environmental engineering by engaging the reader in a comprehensive development of basic principles, as well as providing a strong focus on design for sustainability. The breadth of content and level of treatment is appropriate for civil and environmental engineers and practitioners of elated disciplines seeking a survey of the field. By grounding their approach on the elements of design, the authors instruct readers in how to use the tools of green engineering to design for sustainability and the future of our planet and its inhabitants.

2my bad. I would suggest the e-book
By A. Kugel
I thought I was buying the book, turns out I was renting it and the company asked for it back out of the blue during finals week, my bad. I would suggest the e-book.

3Cheap and nice, but not great packaging.
By Sky
I was happy with the price of this book, can't find it any cheaper online. I found out that it was because the book is printed in black and white, but I was happy nonetheless.

My only issue was that the book came in an bubbled envelope and was dented up upon arrival.

4Good Examples
By Murt
Rating text books is always a struggle for me, especially if I don't like the class. However, this book, in contrast to many other texts I've used, is quite helpful. There are a lot of examples in every chapter and they are very relevant to the problems assigned at the end of the chapter which makes it a lot easier to learn the material.
