About the Author

Elsayed A. Elsayed, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Rutgers University, and the Director of the NSF/Industry/University Co-operative Research Center for Quality and Reliability Engineering. He is the recipient of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) Fellow Award, an ASME Fellow, the Senior Fulbright Award, and the 2011 Thomas Alva Edison Patent Award. He is a coauthor of Quality Engineering in Bookion Systems and the author of Reliability Engineering, which received the 1990 and 1997 IIE/Joint Publishers Book-of-the-Year Award respectively.

1Poor Kindle Presentation - Look Elsewhere

I am using my iPad to read the Kindle version of "Reliability Engineer." The resolution of the equations is extremely poor. Some equations are unreadable. When I highlight text, the text losses contrast and is difficult to read. Overall, the book appears to be an excellent reference, but the Kindle version has limited utility.

Outstanding book on this subject.

Has a great mix of theory and practice.

Possibly not the best book for an introduction but is an excellent reference book after you know the basics. (Though you can learn the basics with this book too).
