By Eric J Gottheld
This is a classic text book that does not go out of date. To the seller: The book was in great shape for its age and a real bargain compared to new text books.

5Best book for geotechnical engineering basics
By L. Morgan
This book pulls together some difficult concepts in a comprehensive manner. Each chapter is a building block on the next. I recently retook this class as a refresher prior to attempting my Masters and my professor believes this is one of the best books available. I think the Das book is a good supplement to this.

5Excellent book on soil mechanics
By Roberto
This is by far the best book on theoretical soil mechanics that I've come across. It is very important for a geotechnical engineer to have a good and deep understanding of soil mechanics, and this book won't disappoint in that regard. I totally recommend anyone that wants to become more proficient in geotechnical engineering to buy and read this book.
