Book Description

Transform complex residential electrical installation requirements into practical, simple, easy-to-understand concepts - all with a tool designed to meet the needs of anyone from the average homeowner to the experienced electrician! The DEWALT Electrical Code Reference, Second Edition: Based on the 2011 National Electrical Code examines all aspects of residential wiring, beginning with the rough-in stages and finishing with the final trim out. It explores each room of the house in detail, including receptacle placement, smoke detector installation, stairwells, and crawl spaces. The book's thorough coverage also expands to address grounding and bonding requirements, HVAC circuits, GFCI and AFCI requirements, and even voltage drop calculations. Enhancing this content are the book's powerful features and important learning tools: worksheets to simplify advanced load calculations, clear, straightforward diagrams for wiring devices, and code references that highlight critical NEC 2011 requirements. The end result is a resource that will set the stage for readers to perform safe, accurate residential wiring installations.

5AWESOME book
By Dennis Scanlon
I used this book to re-wire my entire fire damaged (as in DESTROYED) house, and the electrical inspector actually said I did a better job than many electricians!

Nothing beats a professional though, so for those not interested in tackling their own electrical, this book would ALSO be useful for keeping your electrical contractor honest and in-check.

Very plain and easy to understand, with pictures of the various areas of the home (bedrooms, kitchens, utility rooms, etc) summarizing the requirements. BE SURE you get the latest edition...seems like codes are constantly changing.

5Nice reference book.
By S. Ahrens
I bought this book because it was required for a class I am taking in collage. But after receiving it, I was very happy. It is well laid out, easy to find information and written in a manner that is easy to understand with lots of photos. I will have the chance to sell the book back, but I am planning to keep this book for my library. It is not a complete code book, so if you are doing major electrical work you will need a more in depth book for that, but overall it is a great book for common issues.

Love the spiral binding, and the heavy pages. Should last for many years.

5great book. nice pictures and electrical references
By Walter Figueroa
Good price.I recommend. The book is a nice reference for the 2011 NEC.
79 pages that are coated heavy stock in a spiral bound book. There are color pictures with numbers that take you to the section of the code. It can't get much easier than that.
Even if you are not an electrician, but a weekend DIY'er this book is very helpful. Of course, if you don't feel confident working around electricity then don't try this at home!
But if you are like me, then it gives you the information you need to ensure that you follow the National Electric Code
